Crawl Under a Rock and Die

Sorry, no pics today, but I guess I should tell you about my day. UGH. Okay, well I woke up, took a shower and rushed off to BBB rehearsal which started at 1:00PM. Everything started off fine. First we practiced singing the Telephone Hour again (love that song) for a little while. I don't know why, but it just didn't have the same energy of the first time that we did it. BUT THEN! We had to start dancing. Now, keep in mind, I am simply not a dancer. But as today proved, I am even worse than I thought. THIS IS ONE FLIPPIN' COMPLICATED SONG. It all started with us sitting on boxes. Cute right? Yeah, you would think. We did just fine until Ms. choreographer suggested that we do this terribly difficult weave around the boxes. I know what you're thinking. That's not that hard, right? WRONG. Even I thought it would be easier than it was. The problem was that the person going in the opposite direction had to cross you first, and unless you were all going at the exact same speed and crossed each other at the exact same time, the whole thing would be messed up.

Here, I'll attempt to draw a diagram.

My starting point was the front of the second box. We had to weave through all the boxes and essentially land at the same location. Now add 8 more people to this. See the problem? The worst thing was- I felt like I was messing everyone up. I mean, a lot of people ended up in the wrong place. But it's the kind of thing where one person can ruin everything. She kept yelling at me. After a while, I was just about ready to crawl under a rock and die.
After we had failed miserably at this for at least an hour, the director suggested that we try something different, because, obviously, this wasn't working. But Ms. grouchy choreographer lady protested. Regardless, we tried the director's way, and it went fine- even the first time. This time, we still did the weave, but instead, we just followed the person in front of us. This was incredibly easy after the nonsense that we had attempted before. Choreographer lady still wanted to do her original dance. Then, rehearsal came to an uneasy stop at 5:00PM. I will pray that things work out. ANYWAYS- we had chicken fingers and honey mustard for dinner tonight! YUM!

Wow. That was a lot of words.
